Prince Harry skips longstanding friend's wedding due to legal responsibilities in the UK

 

Lord Charles Vivan, a longtime friend and former member of the Duke's inner circle, married this weekend, and Prince Harry was strangely absent.

Lord Vivian, 58, married American compliance director Saweda Kamara in a ceremony at the Chelsea Old Town Hall, according to GB News.

Despite admitting that Harry had been invited, Lord Vivan provided no reason for his absence, only responding, "I do not know." He's got a lot on.

The Duke of Sussex and Lord Vivian have a long history of friendship, which began with common acquaintance Mark Dyer, a former Welsh Guards officer who is sometimes referred to as Harry's mentor.

Harry's bond became stronger when he served as an usher during Lord Vivian's first wedding to Elizabeth Wimpress.

Harry's absence raised eyebrows considering their relationship, but it isn't the first time he has missed significant milestones in the lives of close friends.

Last year, he also skipped his longtime pal Jack Mann's wedding in Suffolk. The Duke returned to the UK on Sunday night, ahead of a two-day appeal hearing at the Court of Appeal regarding his legal challenge to personal security measures while in Britain.
