King Charles' cancer diagnosis has set off a series of events in the royal family, despite the fact that Buckingham Palace claims the monarch is in good health.
Charles was already in his 70s when he took the throne when his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, died at the age of 96. While the Firm like to be prepared for unexpected events, certain arrangements have to be accelerated once the monarch's condition was announced.
According to Harper's Bazaar, Prince William's succession might occur "earlier than expected" and "sooner rather than later."
Now, the publication reports that there is a definite plan for William and Kate Middleton's coronation, which will be considerably different from King Charles'.
According to royal biographer Tom Quinn, the "emphasis has been on ceremony, on dignity, all that kind of old-fashioned stuff" for Charles, but not for William and Kate. "They'll do the opposite."
Meanwhile, royal novelist Robert Hardman said that the ceremony will be a very different occasion.
Similarly, King William and Queen Catherine's new rule will be reflected.
Quinn stated that the monarchy "will look much less formal, less stiff than it has been under [King] Charles."
"There will be less ceremony. It will be shorter. I believe he will strive to—I wouldn't say modernize, but perhaps some of the aspects would feel more contemporary."
