Rob Lowe said that Emilio Estevez, their The Outsiders co-star, appears to have helped mold Tom Cruise's trademark running style in the Mission: Impossible movies.
In a recent episode of the Fly on the Wall podcast with Dana Carvey and David Spade, Lowe talked about the Top Gun star's acting abilities as well as his incredible stunts.
During the interview, Carvey asked the 9-1-1: Lone Star actor about Cruise's physical performances.
He stated that, aside from his actions, the most astonishing aspect of such films is "sprinting with that kind of authority at 60-something, because the hip flexors so do you think they do slightly speed it up a little bit?"
Lowe refuted this, stating that he does not believe the films will speed up the Oscar nominee's process. He substituted: "Tom and I, I could be wrong, but I think we both initially learned to run from Emilio Estevez's running coach."
The Floor actor revealed the instructor as Milan Tiff, a record-breaking triple jumper who coached Cruise and Lowe following The Outsider.
"We were all training with Milan, the hand thing was the big thing," he told me.
The presenter has previously presented one of the Jack Reacher actor's styles, in which his hands are straight up and down for reduced wind resistance.
Lowe went on to describe another type.
"You also make it flap, by the way," he said, raising his hands with a tiny bend in the extended fingers and sliding them from his head to his chest. "Then you form a little flap. "Little dolphin moves."
Cruise's Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning will be released on May 21, 2025, with more action-packed moments and life-threatening stunts.
