Olivia Williams, well known for her depiction of Camilla Parker Bowels in The Crown, has revealed terrible revelations about her continuing health fight.
The British actress said she will never be cancer-free.
In an interview with The Times, The Sixth Sense actor said that it took four years and ten physicians to identify a malignant tumor in her pancreas in 2018.
"If someone had f---ing well diagnosed me in the four years I'd been saying I was ill," she said to the media.
Williams reported extended weariness, chronic diarrhea, and limb discomfort. The physicians first misdiagnosed her, telling her she was "menopausal, had irritable bowel syndrome, or [was] crazy."
The actress, who is 56 years old, continued: "I used that word advisedly because one doctor referred me for a psychiatric assessment, then one operation possibly could have cleared the whole thing and I could describe myself as cancer-free, which I cannot now ever be."
Williams stated that it required "about 21" medical appointments before she was properly diagnosed.
The Dune: Prophecy artist said that, despite the excision of the primary cancer, she is now dealing with additional metastases.
"They've found new metastases pretty well either just before Christmas or in the middle of a summer holiday," she told me. "Then, for three years in a row, they became too close to major blood arteries to zap. So there was a time when we were simply sitting there, watching them develop, which was a terrible experience."
Williams is presently supporting Pancreatic Cancer UK, the London Marathon's charity of the year, to help collect funds for innovative testing technologies that potentially alter diagnosis.
