Bowen Yang piqued Wicked fans' interest by giving a hint about the impending sequel, Wicked: For Good.
The 34-year-old comedian and actress indicated that the emotional duet between Elphaba, portrayed by Cynthia Erivo, and Glinda, performed by Ariana Grande, will outperform the popularity of Defying Gravity, the smash song from the previous film.
"In the same way that everyone expected Defying Gravity to be such a major event — to the point that everyone was like, 'Well, how can it outdo these expectations?' — and then it did. "I believe it will be the same situation with the song For Good," Yang told People Magazine.
The Saturday Night Live actor said, "It's just like, you're going to see it coming, and then when it happens, you're going to be like, 'I can't believe what I'm watching.'" It is likely to defy already lofty expectations."
Yang, who plays Pfanee, one of Glinda's pals, noted that the lyrics of the song reference Elphaba and Glinda's bond.
The Wedding Banquet star did not reveal any other specifics, but did express his delight about reuniting with his castmates for their press tour.
Looking back on the first tour, he remarked, "It was so vast. We had so many fantastic moments."
