Blake Shelton appeared on The Voice for 23 seasons. It was a prolonged period.
The artist felt similarly when he told People, "It took about a year before I was even open to the idea of, 'What's next?'"
However, the 48-year-old revealed that a call from Post Malone prompted him to cooperate with him on Pour Me a Drink.
At the time, the country singer stated that he was spending time with his family while working with the Sunflower rapper.
The song became a smash, and it "lit a fire under me," he explained. This prompted him to create his 13th album, Recreational Use Only, which will be released on May 9.
"Country music statistics have always fascinated me. "I thought it was important to know these things about my heroes from the beginning," he said.
"Now that I have my own chapter, I can say, 'Man, this is my catalog and legacy.'... It's pretty thrilling."
During the interview, Blake also reflected on his life, adding, "After 25 years of doing this, and the ups and downs, I don't feel like I have anything to prove anymore."
"I used to be practically terrified of my success because I feared losing it in some way. Maybe the concern kept me working hard and focused, but now it's simply enjoyable for me," he said.
