Princess Charlotte's tenth birthday celebration must have left her parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, with mixed emotions.
According to a royal expert, the Prince and Princess of Wales must have hailed their daughter's achievement.
Speaking with The analyst just before Charlotte's birthday, royal analyst Phil Dampier predicted that the pair will be upset at how rapidly time passes.
On her big day, the expert said that after Kate and King Charles' cancer diagnoses, Charlotte's birthday would be a combination of pleasure and grief.
"Like all parents, William and Catherine will delight in Charlotte growing into a teenager and fine young woman, but that is always tinged with a feeling that time flies by and she won't be a child for much longer," according to him.
"They are bound to feel emotional after the roller coaster they have been on because of Kate's health, and that of the King, but the feeling will be one of joy and celebration."
