King Charles is not neglecting Prince Harry out of coldness; rather, he is bound by his position as king and head of the judiciary.
The Duke of Sussex told BBC News that he doesn't know "how much longer" his father has, citing a lack of contact.
Royal analyst Robert Hardman told GB News that Charles cannot talk to Harry while fighting the government over his security measures.
"The reason the King doesn't speak to Harry is because he can't speak to him," according to the specialist. "Harry is suing the King's ministers in the King's courts, and the King is what they call the 'fountain of justice' he's the head of the judiciary."
Hardman went on: "If Harry had a talk with him regarding his situation, particularly his security, that would be really troublesome.
"We already know Harry has a habit of promptly repeating private talks, whether in television interviews, novels, or documentaries. This may totally undercut the argument. It's referred to as legal jeopardy.
"You have the king's son suing the government. Harry has stated that he would no longer pursue it through the courts, but he is still referring to a 'establishment stitch-up' and is still urging the Home Secretary to support him.
"The King can't get anywhere near this. It's dangerous ground for a constitutional monarch who simultaneously acts as the head of the court. So he can't speak to his son."
