John Cena has revealed his acting abilities in the first trailer for the second season of his forthcoming series, Peacemaker.
The Max series, a spin-off from 2021's The Suicide Squad, stars Cena as the eponymous character on a mission to achieve peace "at any cost," with the second season slated to build up to the narrative of James Gunn's Superman.
As Peacemaker is forced to confront his history and rethink his judgments, the series is funny, back-and-forth, and features intricate brutality.
"Christopher 'Chris' Smith, aka Peacemaker, the vigilante Super Hero as he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost," according to the season's logline.
Peacemaker stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Nhut Le, and Robert Patrick.
James Gunn, who wrote all eight episodes for the second season, has also revealed the plot of Peacemaker, stating:
"The second season is considerably more about the individuals and their connections to their personal lives. "It's more about Chris Smith than about Peacemaker."
