Sajid Sadpara climbs the world's 7th highest peak without oxygen support

 

ISLAMABAD: Sajid Ali Sadpara, the son of great climber late Mohammad Ali Sadpara, has added another feather to his crown by successfully summiting Nepal's 8167-meter-high Dhaulagiri mountain, the world's seventh highest peak, without supplementary oxygen.

Sadpara posted on his Instagram account, "Alhamdulillah, Dhaulagiri summit without oxygen and unsupported yesterday 10 May."

According to Karrar Haidri, Secretary of the Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP), this exceptional achievement was made possible with the help of Seven Summit Treks Nepal and Sabroso Pakistan, with technical climbing gear proudly provided by Kailas.

He described it as a proud and historic event for Pakistan and the international climbing fraternity.

Sadpara accomplished the rare achievement of ascending Mount Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen or Sherpas in May 2023.

He is the first Pakistani to climb the world's highest mountain without the use of supplementary oxygen. Sadpara has climbed all five eight-thousanders in Pakistan without the need of supplemental oxygen.

In June 2023, he successfully ascended Nanga Parbat without supplemental oxygen or Sherpas. He also climbed K2 (8,611m), Gasherbrum-I (8,080m), and Gasherbrum-II (8,035m) in Pakistan, as well as Manaslu (8,163m) in Nepal, without using supplementary oxygen.
