King Charles appoints Princess Anne to convey an important message

 

Princess Anne represented King Charles on a visit to Guernsey commemorating the Bailiwick's 80th anniversary of liberation.

The Princess Royal and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, attended the celebration on Friday, May 9, 2025.

However, King Charles appreciated Princess Anne's poignant homage, as the royal family's official Instagram account shared a series of images during the visit.

The caption included a passage from the Princess Royal's address, which said, "My thoughts and prayers remain with you for the future happiness and prosperity of your beloved Island."

"The Princess Royal has delivered a message, on behalf of The King, during a visit to Guernsey to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Bailiwick," the photo's description said.

The statement continued: "Today, Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, spent time with people from Guernsey who lived through the Occupation, as well as evacuees, veterans, volunteers, and members of the community who organised the celebrations."
