Prince Archie's sixth birthday comes after days of criticism hurled at his father for his BBC interview, as well as his failure in the Appeals Court to obtain taxpayer-funded protection alongside Princess Lilibet and Meghan Markle.
It prompted royal analyst Daniela Elser to write a post for News.com.au, emphasising how'sad' the six-year-old's life is.
In her opinion, "it's nice, of course, and the caption is charming ('Our son. Our sun.') But it's also unquestionably heartbreaking," she continued, alluding to Prince Archie's birthday message from his mother.
However, she believes "he is also growing up at a complete remove from half of his family."
In reference to how little of their British origins the young prince has seen, she also stated, "King Charles has not seen his youngest grandson since 2022 and has only met his sister Princess Lilibet, three, once." Once"
And to make matters worse, "the door on any slim chance of that changing any time soon has now been slammed resolutely shut," she said before signing off.
