Prince William supports a new social initiative on his visit to Scotland

 

Prince William visited Leith Community Centre on Wednesday, a venue that is undergoing significant renovation, according to a statement published by the royal family as the Prince of Wales arrived in Scotland for royal responsibilities.

The press release continued: "Proud to mark the launch of Leith United, a new social enterprise bringing together Street Soccer Scotland, YMCA Edinburgh and the Leith Community Centre Association to deliver health, wellbeing and social connection for thousands of residents."

It continued: "Through the Royal Foundation's Community Impact Programme, support has been provided to protect this vital local hub from closure and to turn it into a sustainable centre for opportunity and belonging."

Multiple images of the prince's visit to the community facility were also posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales' official Instagram account.

Earlier, a video of the future king landing at Edinburgh Airport was released on Instagram Stories.

The footage shows King Charles' eldest son disembarking the plane without his wife, Kate Middleton.

The Prince of Wales seemed spiffy in one of the Instagram images posted upon his arrival at the community center.
