Qualcomm has published the program for its forthcoming Snapdragon Summit at Computex 2025 in Taipei. The annual launch ceremony will take place in late September this year, which is slightly earlier than Qualcomm's usual launch timeframe. The annual summit is likely to unveil the next-generation processor, provisionally known as the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. For perspective, the current Snapdragon 8 Elite was revealed at last October's Snapdragon Summit. Devices sporting the new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 are expected to hit the market by October.
Snapdragon Summit to Take Place in September
During his keynote speech at Computex 2025, Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon announced that the next Snapdragon Summit would be held in Hawaii from September 23 to September 25 of this year. That's ahead of schedule compared to prior years—for example, last year's Snapdragon Summit took place in late October.
Qualcomm has historically used the Snapdragon Summit to announce next-generation flagship smartphone SoCs. We may expect the business to follow suit this year with the release of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
Handsets using the new chip might be released in October. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2's revised launch timeframe may provide adequate time for smartphone manufacturers to implement the new processor into their top smartphones.
The processor is said to provide 25% better performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to feature TSMC's advanced 3nm (N3P) manufacturing node. It is believed to include second-generation Oryon CPU cores with a base clock of 4.4GHz. It is supposed to support both LPDDR5x and LPDDR6 RAM.
Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro are thought to be the first cellphones to have the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor. The OnePlus 15, Realme GT 8, iQOO 14, Vivo X300 Ultra, and Samsung Galaxy S26 series might be among the first smartphones to use the latest Snapdragon processor. The Xiaomi 15 series was the first to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC last year.
