Ubisoft is reportedly working on remakes of numerous previous Assassin's Creed titles, including Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The pirate adventure game debuted in 2013 and is still one of the most popular in the series. A voice actor from the original game has revealed that a Black Flag remake is in development.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Remake Hinted
Matt Ryan, who portrayed Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag protagonist Edward Kenway, hinted at a game remake when conversing with a fan at a recent convention. Ryan can be seen remarking that the fan might have to beat Black Flag again in a video of the exchange uploaded to X by user @SuperDropKick17 (as reported by VGC), before adding that he "can't say anything".

The fan then stated that he might replay all Assassin's Creed games. "But especially this one," Ryan said. "There's a reason I say that, but I can't say anything."
In July of last year, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced that the company was working on various remakes of earlier Assassin's Creed titles. He made no mention of the AC titles that were being redone.
Assassin's Creed Shadows, the most recent Assassin's Creed game, was released in March by Ubisoft. The action-adventure title is set in feudal Japan and has two characters.
Following the release of Shadows, Ubisoft said that some of its "biggest productions" will be delayed in order to allow for more development time and provide the "best conditions for success". While the business did not specify which games were being postponed, the announcement hinted that the company's largest titles, such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six, may be delayed.
Ubisoft is also developing multiple new Assassin's Creed games. These include Ubisoft Montreal's Assassin's Creed: Codename Hexe, which is claimed to take place during the Holy Roman Empire's witch trials. The studio is also working on Assassin's Creed Jade, a mobile-only project, and a standalone multiplayer AC game.
