The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra launched last year as the company's flagship new wristwatch, with a radical new design. The corporation is now expected to incorporate it into its next-generation watch range. According to a source, a note in the animation files of the leaked One UI 8 Watch hints that the rumored Galaxy Watch 8 series may abandon its present circular shape in favor of a "squircle" appearance. Furthermore, the Classic model is expected to receive a new Quick button, putting it up to line with Samsung's high-end Watch Ultra.
Change in Design of Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Series
According to Android Authority, the putative Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series design update was detected in files from the newly leaked One UI 8 Watch build. The unpublished firmware specifies two smartwatches with codenames "fresh8" and "wise8", which are thought to be the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, respectively.

The accompanying visuals in the animation files show a look similar to the Galaxy Watch Ultra, with both watches featuring a circular display and a square dial – a design commonly known as a squircle.
Other parts of the Galaxy Watch 8 are likely to remain identical, however the Classic model may differ. According to the source, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic may receive an extra button as part of a three-button configuration. Furthermore, it may benefit from greater vibrations, thanks to expanded vibration pattern compatibility, as seen on the top Ultra smartwatch.
The basic Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is claimed to be available in "small" and "large" versions, with model numbers SM-L32 and SM-L33, respectively, however the actual dimensions are unclear. Meanwhile, just one SM-L50 edition of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic was seen in the leaked One UI 8 Watch build.
This adds to numerous features seen in the leaked firmware update, including as battery protection, a new charging animation, a Shortcuts app, compatibility for the Galaxy AI-powered Now Bar, and an Antioxidant Index function.
