Samsung's first FE-branded foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip FE, is scheduled to be available shortly. The South Korean manufacturer is anticipated to promote the Galaxy Z Flip FE as an inexpensive clamshell foldable smartphone, and it is expected to be released alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and normal Galaxy Z Flip 7 in the second half of this year. While we wait for the official announcement, the Galaxy Z Flip FE has appeared in the Geekbench online database. The listing indicates that it may use the Exynos 2400 chipset.
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip FE Shows Up on GeekBench
The Geekbench web database has a Samsung cellphone with the model number SM-F761N. The listing, thought to be for the Galaxy Z Flip FE, reveals a motherboard nicknamed s5e9945 and a governor called energy_aware. The phone's processor includes four cores clocked at 1.96GHz, three cores at 2.59GHz, two cores at 2.90GHz, and a prime core at 3.21GHz. These CPU speeds seem to be connected with the Exynos 2400 SoC.
The Geekbench listing reveals that the Galaxy Z Flip FE runs Android 16. The phone received 1,930 points for single-core testing and 6,276 points for multi-core testing. According to the description, the device has 7.06GB of RAM, which corresponds to 8GB on paper.
There have been several theories and guesses about Samsung's processor decision for the future foldable devices. Early sources claimed that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will be powered by an Exynos 2400e SoC. However, another recent report suggests that the FE model would have comparable features to last year's Galaxy Z Flip 6, which has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC inside.
Samsung utilized the Exynos 2400 chipset in last year's Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ in a few markets, including India. Since its beginnings, the Galaxy Z-series foldable devices have been powered by Qualcomm. Samsung is expected to load watered-down internals inside the Galaxy Z Flip FE to keep the phone's cost as low as possible.
The regular Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to include the Exynos 2500 processor. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is reported to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy.
