Sheryl Crow recently praised Taylor Swift and her songwriting abilities.
In a recent interview with Variety, the diva, who rocketed to popularity in 1993 with her mega-hit All I Wanna Do, revealed why Taylor Swift's songwriting should be used as a yardstick for emerging singers.
Crow recommends the "college of Taylor Swift" for everyone interested in learning the craft of songwriting.
Sheryl praised other musicians, like Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo, and Phoebe Bridgers, for their remarkable "caliber of writing," and encouraged music students to attend Taylor Swift's "college."
The musician who won a Grammy started by saying, "The caliber of writing is just so good with Chappell Roan, Olivia [Rodrigo] and Phoebe Bridgers, and these women are not just in the studio throwing in a lyric—they play."
It is worth noting that the University of Texas at Austin will already offer a songwriting course in 2022, inspired by Travis Kelce's lady love's work.
"If you want to take a course on amazing songwriting, go to Taylor Swift's college. "There's Brandi [Carlile] and Courtney Barnett," she said.
Before concluding, Sheryl said, "For a long time, there was a dearth of women who were playing, singing, and rocking, and now I'm tickled."
