Xiaomi 15s Pro will be released in China on May 22, alongside the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet and the Xiaomi YU7 SUV. While we wait for the formal announcement, Lu Weibing, Xiaomi Group partner and President, has teased the smartphone's design and important characteristics. The Xiaomi 15s Pro is said to include a periscope telephoto camera. The focal length of the telephoto lens looks to equal that of the Xiaomi 15 Pro. The next Xiaomi 15s Pro will be powered by Xiaomi's proprietary Xring O1 processor.
Xiaomi 15s Pro Camera Specifications Teased
In a recent video posted on Bilibili (via), Xiaomi's President, Weibing, mentioned the Xiaomi 15s Pro's periscope lens. Close-up photos of the phone indicate the oblong form of a periscope lens, while inside photographs of the device's mainboard show a specialized cut-out for the periscope camera housing.
The Xiaomi 15s Pro is seen in a black color in the video. It has a square-shaped camera module with Leica logo. It is visible with a triple rear camera configuration in the upper left corner. The LED flash is located outside the module.
Meanwhile, the inscription on the camera housing of the Xiaomi 15s Pro reveals that its telephoto lens has a 120mm equivalent focal length, which is the same as the Xiaomi 15 Pro. It also has a 14 mm ultra-wide-angle lens, like the Xiaomi 15 Pro. The main and telephoto cameras on the next phone will most likely have apertures of f/1.44 and f/2.5, respectively. This shows that the photography hardware has seen little modifications as compared to the Xiaomi 15 Pro.
The Xiaomi 15s Pro will come with the XRing O1 chipset. Xiaomi's self-developed CPU has lately debuted on benchmarking sites, with single-core and multi-core numbers that are virtually identical to the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The new 3nm device has a 2+4+2+2 architecture, with two prime CPU cores clocked at 3.90GHz, four cores capped at 3.40GHz, and two cores clocked at 1.89GHz. The CPU additionally has two cores clocked at 1.80GHz. The Xiaomi 15s Pro was detected on Geekbench running Android 15 and 16GB of RAM.
The Xiaomi 15s Pro will be launched in China later today at 7:00pm (4:30pm IST). The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra and Xiaomi YU7 SUV are both set to be unveiled during Xiaomi's 15th anniversary celebration.
