The business has stated that more GPU driver upgrades would be released for the Google Pixel 10 series, citing previous patches as proof that work is still being done. But Google hasn't promised a significant update of the visuals. After being observed having trouble with graphics-intensive games, the most recent Pixel 10 series of smartphones has drawn criticism for its subpar GPU performance. The Imagination PowerVR DXT-48-1536 is presently running on driver 24.3 for the Pixel 10, and the more recent 25.1 driver, which supports Vulkan 1.4 and Android 16, is not yet available.
It has been reported that the Google Pixel 10 GPU has been updated
Google responded to an inquiry from Android Authority regarding the Imagination GPU in the Pixel 10 by saying that it is "continuing to improve driver quality in our monthly and quarterly system updates," adding that improvements were made in recent September and October patches and that more GPU driver updates are scheduled for upcoming releases.
Although this implies continued assistance, it does not meet the expectations of many users. Although Imagination published version 25.1 in August with changes for Android 16, support for Vulkan 1.4, and overall performance improvements, the Pixel 10 is presently using driver version 24.3. This update for the Pixel 10 series has not yet been released by Google.
According to recent benchmark findings, the Pixel 9 Pro outperformed the Pixel 10 Pro in the GPU benchmark testing. Users have also complained about power efficiency and stability problems, indicating a growing discontent with the device's functionality.
Wider worries about the Tensor G5 processor exacerbate the GPU issues. Even if its CPU performance surpasses that of the Tensor G4, its graphics capabilities fall short of those of rivals like Samsung and Apple, despite Google's boasts of a sophisticated 3nm architecture with complete in-house control. The Pixel 10 Pro's gaming performance is comparable to that of the Samsung Galaxy S23, which is two years old, demonstrating that driver upgrades are insufficient to address the device's shortcomings.
