The software behemoth from San Jose, California, announced a collaboration with YouTube at Adobe Max 2025. Through this partnership, the business is providing YouTube Shorts producers with a one-stop shop through its Premiere app for iOS. The process of the video editing tool is being modified to suit Shorts, and users will even have the option to import the video and post it straight to their channel. The news is noteworthy since it coincides with the release of a number of new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and features for various Adobe platforms.
Adobe's Premiere App Will Help With Editing YouTube Short Videos
Short vertically scrolling videos are becoming the most common way to watch videos on social media. The format, which was first popular by TikTok and then embraced by YouTube with Shorts and Instagram with Reels, has attracted millions of viewers and thousands of producers. During the event, Adobe revealed its collaboration with YouTube to help create Shorts in order to capitalize on that market.Adobe will offer a specific area for content creation inside the Premiere app as part of this partnership. The current video editing tools, along with exclusive themes, transitions, and effects for Shorts, will be available to content producers in this area. Additionally, users will be able to import and post the altered films straight to the creator's YouTube account using the interface.
"This partnership with Adobe to integrate YouTube Shorts into Premiere mobile will give creators even more choice and access to more editing features to produce content the way they want, unlocking new ways for them to connect with their viewers and reach new audiences globally," said Scott Silver, Vice President of Engineering at YouTube, who made the announcement. Alongside Silver, Adobe's Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, Digital Media, Ely Greenfield, announced the collaboration.
Content producers will now be able to access Adobe's iOS platform by clicking on the "Edit in Adobe Premiere" option on the YouTube app. Users may select from a variety of title themes and effects, as well as pre-made templates, and even share their own designs with others.
Interestingly, Adobe also unveiled a brand-new prompt-to-edit tool that lets users alter movies straight from text prompts. The feature makes advantage of agentic features seen in helpers for Photoshop, Firefly, and Express. Additionally, the business unveiled the Generate Speech and Generate Soundtrack tools, which allow users to add voiceovers and music to submitted movies.
