Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are scheduled to be released shortly as the successors to the Pixel 7 range, which debuted in October 2022. The future Pixel 8 series is believed to contain a new Tensor chipset, better cameras, and a significantly smaller footprint than the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Even though Google has not yet officially revealed the models, details regarding the handsets have been making the rounds for the previous few weeks. A fresh leak reveals that the two highly awaited phones will have different storage and colour options.
In a recent Winfuture article, tipster Roland Quandt (@rquandt) stated that the regular Google Pixel 8 would likely arrive with 128GB and 256GB storage configurations, while the Pixel 8 Pro will likely provide 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB choices, similar to the Pixel 7 range. Earlier sources said that the standard model will have 8GB of RAM, while the Pixel 8 Pro would have 12GB of RAM.
According to the source, the basic Pixel 8 model would be available in Licorice, Peony, and Haze colour variants. Meanwhile, according to the source, the high-end Pixel 8 Pro might be available in Licorice, Porcelain, and Sky colour variants. An earlier report said that a fourth Jade colour option will be included in the lineup, however it has not been featured subsequently.
Both versions are rumoured to be powered by Tensor G3 SoCs combined with Titan processors and to run vanilla Android 14 out of the box. The Pixel 8 is expected to have a 6.17-inch full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) OLED display, while the Pixel 8 Pro will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440 pixels) LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
The Pixel 8's camera unit is said to have a 50-megapixel primary Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 11-megapixel front camera sensor.
Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 Pro is said to have a triple rear camera system with a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS support, a 64-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens, as well as an 11-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls in the front.
Finally, the Pixel 8 is reported to be powered by a 4,485mAh battery with 24W cable charging and 12W wireless charging support, whilst the Pixel 8 Pro is claimed to be powered by a 4,950mAh battery with 27W wired fast charging support.
