A$AP Rocky just collaborated with Jessica Pratt and Jon Batiste for his new track HIGHJACK, which is out today.
During an appearance on Zane Lowe's Apple Music 1 on August 2, Rocky stated, "HIGHJACK is part of me ushering in a whole new aesthetic on everything."
When asked about his cooperation with Pratt and Batiste, Rocky told Lowe, "I really adore alternative. I enjoy hearing new noises and such."
"[Pratt] reminded me of Portishead and Stevie Nicks. Right. So I've always been (expletive) with her as an artist," the rapper concluded.
Rocky said about: "So, I figured it was necessary to get her, Jon Batiste on this one and kind of make it feel soulful to bring it on home in the outro."
During the conversation, Rocky, who has two boys with Rihanna, also discussed his parenthood journey.
"It's just like, time speeds up when you become a dad, man," said the rapper.
Rocky said, "It's ridiculous. This is ridiculous. Surreal."
Meanwhile, the rapper announced that Hood Happy, which features Fatman Scoop, Flavour Flav, Slick Rick, Morrissey, and Busta Rhymes, will be his next album.
He described the duet as a "amalgamation of my parents' favourite rappers and my favourite rappers" to Lowe.
