Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool and Wolverine, has revealed that Taylor Swift does not feature in the film.
Shawn, who also starred in Taylor's short film re-recording, told Entertainment Weekly, "It was very loud."
"I definitely had moments where I was worried, I would disappoint people when they realised Taylor as Dazzler was not in the movie," said the actor.
However, Shawn told EW, "There's no controlling the internet, and rumors spread like wildfire."
Regarding Taylor's presence in the film, the director stated, "It was never a conversation. It was never even the start of a conversation."
"Obviously, Ryan and Blake, and myself, to a far lesser extent, have our own relationships in real life with Taylor," according to the filmmaker.
He said, "But, yeah, those rumours were loud and slightly baffling, but nothing I said or did was going to make them quiet down until this movie came out."
Taylor previously stated on her Instagram Stories, "Over the past few years, I have watched one of my best friends on the planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film."
"He's made the finest work of his life, and this picture seems like a true pleasure portal, a crazy escape from reality, and an ab sandwich. "I'm not sure how he did it," the singer added.
Meanwhile, Taylor made a humorous joke at Ryan, saying, "But that's just Hugh for you!".
Deadpool & Wolverine is now playing in theaters.
