Jenna Ortega is scheduled to join J.J. Abrams' unnamed film at Warner Bros.
According to Deadline, the Wednesday star will play alongside Glen Powell, who is also finishing his agreement.
The publication stated that Abrams wrote the script and Bad Robot will produce the upcoming film.
Powell's most recent film Twisters grossed more than $200 million in the United States and $275 million globally, while Ortega's newest film Scream VI had the biggest domestic opening ever at $44.4 million and the franchise's best stateside take at $108.1 million.
According to the publication, Scream VI is the third highest-grossing film in the Scream franchise at the global box office.
Powell and Ortega, interestingly, were identified as members of The Hollywood Reporter's "New A-List,"
Wednesday, starring Ortega, is Netflix's most-watched series ever, with 252.1 million global views.
Meanwhile, Ortega has the A24 film Death of a Unicorn, which will be directed by Alex Scharfman and starring Paul Rudd and Will Poulter.
The action-packed story "follows father-daughter duo who hit a unicorn with their car and bring it to the wilderness retreat of a mega-wealthy pharmaceutical CEO," according to the movie's official summary.
The report noted that Ortega is represented by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
