J Balvin recently addressed Will Smith's attendance at his Coachella concert back in April.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the singer stated, "My inner child was screaming to have him (Smith) in my show because there was no one better than him."
For those unfamiliar, Balvin welcomed Smith onstage during his alien-themed UFO act at Coachella, where the Oscar-winning singer sang his 1997 classic Men in Black.
"I informed him about my vision. He responded, 'Give me a week.' "And I kept pressuring, man," the 39-year-old recalled.
He stated, "I kept sending him pictures of me praying, until he called and said he was down, and it was a beautiful moment to see us together, man."
Balvin, who adores the I Am Legend actor, told up about his relationship with Smith, whom he refers to as his "idol".
The singer said, "Will Smith has always been one of my major inspirations. Period. "I feel very connected to him."
"You cannot judge a person for some mistakes," he remarked, referring to Smith's Oscar slap-gate episode with Chris Rock in 2022.
He said, "A mistake cannot define who you are because if it's like that, we all are bad."
"With what happened with Will Smith, I felt his pain because I was going through a similar situation when I felt that some part of the world was against me for mistakes," he noted.
