Meghan Markle, who joined the royal family in 2017 following her engagement to Prince Harry, learned some surprising aspects of the royal family.
According to a royal biographer, the Duchess of Sussex began to notice strange things about her husband shortly after they married in 2018, which led to concerns escalating into a full-fledged rift.
While Meghan was not envious, she was quick to detect Prince Harry's unjust treatment, even though he "deserved more," according to Robert Jobson's book Catherine, The Princess of Wales, as reported by the New York Post.
Meghan was immediately "taken aback" by the discrepancy between Harry and Prince William.
"It is understood that when Meghan and Harry had gone round to have drinks at William and Catherine's apartment, while they were still living at Nottingham Cottage opposite, Meghan had been 'taken aback' at the disparity between the brothers."
"'I am not saying Meghan was jealous, but she was really surprised how lavishly Harry's brother was living compared to where they were living,' said a close source," Jobson further stated.
"'It was perhaps the beginning of all the tensions between the two couples.'"
Prince Harry had been residing at Nottingham Cottage, the smallest property at Windsor, which has two rooms and a single bathroom.
The pair relocated to Frogmore Cottage after their marriage, however it was also taken away after they left key royal posts in 2020.
