Prince William and Kate Middleton have followed in King Charles' footsteps, sending a greeting to a beloved royal after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in Colombia on Thursday.
The Prince and Princess of Wales tweeted a few cute photos of Princess Anne to celebrate her 74th birthday, barely an hour after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex began their much-anticipated journey.
Kate and William's public birthday greeting to the Princess Royal, who is enjoying her big day with her family, read: "Wishing a very happy birthday to the Princess Royal!"
The message was accompanied by three photographs of Zara Tindall's mother.
Kate and William responded to the King's greeting by sending their own to Princess Royal. The 75-year-old king paid public homage to his younger sister on social media this morning.
Princess Anne and King Charles are shown together in two photos, one as youngsters and the other at the monarch's coronation.
It comes less than two weeks after King Charles, William, and Kate neglected to officially commemorate Prince Harry's bride Meghan Markle's birthday.
On August 4, the Duchess celebrated her birthday in private with her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as well as her husband, Prince Harry, in the US. The pair is presently in Colombia on a four-day vacation.
