Elon Musk is sleeping wherever he can.
According to two Republican individuals familiar with the situation, the world's richest man has been sleeping on the floor of his government office, which is only a few feet from the White House and President Donald Trump.
Since taking over as director of the Department of Government Efficiency, the 53-year-old entrepreneur has worked from an office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB).
The EEOB, which is part of the White House grounds, contains different agencies of the Executive Office of the President and is located right across from the West Wing.
One person told People that Musk has been spending a lot of time in his DOGE office, even sleeping there on occasion.
"He's been holed up in his office recently, including sleeping on a couch and sometimes the floor," a source told me.
The insider also emphasized the EEOB's "great amenities, including a cafeteria and bowling alley," and mentioned that sleeping in the workplace is not unusual in Washington, noting that some House members "sleep in their offices and shower in the House gym."
Musk's 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, who he has with musician Grimes, is regularly spotted at the EEOB. However, it is unknown if the youngster spends overnight in the building.
X Æ A-Xii recently made news when he appeared with Musk and Trump at an Oval Office press conference on Tuesday, February 11. He entertained reporters with his humorous looks while grasping at his father.
A second source verified to the newspaper that Musk has been sleeping on the floor of the EEOB while in Washington. The insider also stated that when Musk and Trump visit Florida, he stays at Mar-a-Lago.
Previous reports stated that the Tesla CEO was living part-time at Mar-a-Lago throughout the presidential election and inauguration to help Trump with the White House transition.
Musk has always been candid about his unusual sleeping arrangements. He previously spent three years living in a Tesla plant, sometimes sleeping on a couch, behind his desk, or even in a tent on the roof.
