According to a tribunal, Prince Andrew's senior adviser supported businessman Yang Tengbo despite past intelligence warnings.
Dominic Hampshire issued a statement in support of Yang after the businessman was denied entrance into the United Kingdom.
During a hearing before the Special Immigration Appeals Commission, media lawyers claimed that Hampshire offered his assistance without legal counsel, according to The Sun.
Yang, who has denied any wrongdoing, was barred from entering the United Kingdom on national security grounds in March 2023.
The tribunal judges found anomalies in Yang's declarations about his affiliations. Media attorneys also stated that Hampshire had spoken with UK intelligence services about Yang in 2022, before his expulsion.
Hampshire's legal counsel, Jonathan Price, said that his client had been open about his role.
