Kensington Palace has confirmed that Prince William and Princess Kate would be absent from this year's BAFTA Film Awards.
The Prince of Wales, who is President of BAFTA, is focusing his support for the next generation of British filmmakers.
Although he attended the ceremony last year, William was never planned to present at the 2025 event. Instead, he will appear in a special video portion during the Oscars.
On Wednesday, the prince will visit the London Screen Academy in Islington as part of his ongoing efforts to support new talent.
He will engage with Year 13 students working on a collaborative movie project, acquiring personal knowledge of their creative process.
During his visit, Prince William will witness hair and makeup teams at work, look into costume design for the production, and even go onto the set to help film a scene for the student-led short film Melomania.
His absence from the BAFTAs demonstrates his commitment to supporting innovation in the British film business, ensuring that new filmmakers have the mentorship and opportunity they require to prosper.
