Gemini Advanced, the AI service included with the Google One AI Premium subscription, will be free for one year for college students in the United States. Students may now get 15 months of access to Gemini Advanced, as the business competes with rival OpenAI's recent decision to provide two months of ChatGPT Plus to students in the United States. As part of the deal, consumers will have access to 2TB of Google product storage on their personal account, as well as additional Gemini AI features.
Google's Gemini Advanced Offer Is Limited to US Students
According to a subdomain on the Google Gemini website, customers will be able to get free access to Gemini Advanced for 15 months. Users who live in the nation and are enrolled in college can take advantage of the deal until June 30.
If a student has already subscribed to Google One AI Premium, they must terminate their membership and redeem the deal after the current paying cycle. Google charges US consumers nearly $20 (around Rs. 1,700) each month for a Google One AI Premium membership.
To take advantage of the free Google One AI Premium offer, students must have an email address that ends in '.edu'. These email addresses are issued by universities in the United States, and Google uses them to verify a user's eligibility for the campaign.
Students who take advantage of the offer will have access to Gemini Advanced (with Gemini 2.5 Pro), Notebook LM Plus (research), Whisk (image and animation production), and Veo 2 (video generation). They will also get access to Gemini features throughout the Google Workspace applications.
These features, along with the 2TB of cloud storage, will be implemented on a user's personal Google account once they sign up and claim the offer using the email address supplied by their institution. According to the corporation, these tools will be available until "spring 2026".
Google's rival OpenAI recently announced that students in the United States and Canada may sign up for two months of free access to ChatGPT Plus as part of a special promotional offer. In compared to OpenAI's offer, Google provides access to Gemini Advanced for a significantly longer period of time, but exclusively to students in the United States.
