King Charles delivered a historic address to a joint session of the Italian Parliament, becoming the first British monarch and the fourth non-Italian to do so.
The queen delivered the address in both English and Italian, and it was met with a thunderous applause.
Buckingham Palace provided a snippet from the historic address in which the King remembered his late mother, Queen Elizabeth.
The King stated in Italian: "It is very important for the Queen and for me to return to Italy for our first visit after the coronation." The occasion is much more important for both of them, as today marks our thirty-first wedding anniversary."
It translates to: It means a lot to The Queen and me to return to Italy for the first time since my accession. The date is even more meaningful for us because today is our twentieth wedding anniversary.
Charles stated that he had made 18 formal visits to the Belpaese in the last forty years.
"It has been one of the pleasures of my life to come to know this irresistible country, and from Turin to Palermo, Verona to Naples, Florence to Trieste, I have learned a little more about this nation and have come to admire it even more."
