Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth II's daughter and King Charles III's sister, has taken a significant stride forward since Zara Tindall and Mike Tindall's startling intentions were revealed.
The Princess Royal departed England without King Charles and Queen Camilla to attend a luncheon at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland as the patron of Columba 1400.
Columba 1400, founded in 2013, is "a charity and social enterprise based in Scotland" where it "enables young people, especially those from tough realities, and the key adults in their life, to lead lives of purpose, meaning and contribution," according to the company's website.
The news follows claims that Zara and Mike, who have never publicly discussed their friendship with Harry and Meghan, are looking forward to spending time with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex overseas.
Princess Anne stated regarding her support, "Columba 1400 has more than surpassed its early promise."
She finished by saying: "Since its launch on 3 June 2000 in Staffin, I have been very pleased and impressed to learn of the thousands of young people from tough backgrounds, along with the significant adults in their lives, who have benefitted and graduated from a series of Columba 1400 Young People's Leadership Academies."
Princess Anne, who is one of the most hardworking members of the royal family, surprised admirers with her choice when the King and Queen were already in Italy.
King Charles and Queen Camilla were greeted enthusiastically in Ravenna for the penultimate stage of their Italian visit. The royal couple had spent the previous three days in Rome, where the British monarch also addressed the Italian parliament.
