Sadie Sink, a rising actress best recognized for her role as Max Mayfield on Stranger Things, recently discussed her "untraditional experience" growing up as a child star in Hollywood.
The 23-year-old young actress believes she was a "mature" child star. Sadie currently portrays the wild Shelby in John Proctor Is the Villain, claiming that her unusual background in the limelight gives her a genuine, raw edge in every job she takes on.
The actress told AccessHollywood, "I believe there was a certain maturity in me that I held from a young age, and I absolutely unconsciously take it into the part of Shelby. My experience was rather unconventional, but so was Shelby's, and I've discovered ways to combine the two."
In the play, Sadie plays a high school student who has had a previous connection with her instructor. However, she stated that she has learned a lot from working with her castmates and, despite being the lead, feels there is no "star" in the program.
The Dear Zoe actor said, "It's so weird, and it's such an ensemble piece - genuinely. There is no star, and being surrounded by everyone in this group and learning so much from them has been my most valuable lesson thus far."
Sadie recently concluded filming the last season of Stranger Things, in which she portrays Max Mayfield, and revealed that she "cried so much" during her final days on set.
