KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is poised to make a key decision on the remaining eight Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 matches within the next 48 hours, sources told Geo News on Sunday.
This move happened a day after the PSL management began planning to resume PSL 10 matches following a truce between Pakistan and India.
According to the reports, matches would be staged in Rawalpindi and Lahore, with the final of the showpiece event taking place in Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.
However, foreign players are set to miss the forthcoming matches "due to their international schedule," and the PSL franchises will restart matches with local players, they noted.
According to insiders, the PSL management needed to complete the season owing to budgetary reasons.
A day ago, the PSL clubs were requested to keep international players in Dubai, indicating that the league will resume.
It was learned that a strategy was being developed to unite all teams in Islamabad, with the remaining matches expected to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The PCB announced the indefinite suspension of the remaining eight PSL Season 10 matches due to the deteriorating regional security situation.
The postponement occurred when the PSL 10 was in its closing stages, with only eight matches remaining.
After 27 games, the Quetta Gladiators, who had already qualified for the playoffs, topped the points table with six wins, two defeats, and one draw from nine.
The Karachi Kings are in second position with 10 points, having won five and lost three of their eight matches. Islamabad United, the defending champions, are third with 10 points after winning five and losing four of their first nine games.
Lahore Qalandars are in fourth position with nine points after four victories, four defeats, and one no-result. Peshawar Zalmi are in fifth place, with eight points from four victories in nine matches.
Multan Sultans have been eliminated from playoff contention after winning only one and losing eight of their nine matches.
