On Thursday, OpenAI added a number of new capabilities to the Sora app for iOS. Users can now create Cameos, reusable characters created from uploaded short videos and sounds of pets, objects, and drawings, thanks to the artificial intelligence (AI) company located in San Francisco. All app users now have access to the new function, which is called Character Cameo. In addition, the business is launching two new features: leaderboards and video stitching. Notably, OpenAI has lifted the invite limitation for Sora in the US for a little time.
The Sora App Gains More Features
OpenAI's official account announced the upcoming features for the Sora app on X, formerly known as Twitter. The AI behemoth has also temporarily lifted the invite-based limitation, enabling anybody in the US to sign up and participate without restriction.Character Cameo is the company's most notable addition. Users were limited to using other users who gave their permission to create videos up to this point. But now, the AI behemoth is enabling anybody to create a cameo by uploading a brief voice and video of any character, whether it's a pet, a household item, or a painting.

After creating a Cameo character, users may describe it in writing, giving it a name and personality qualities. Users may then tag the character to show up in subsequent generations. Additionally, users have the option to restrict access to the characters to mutual friends, approved users, the whole public, or none at all. They can also choose what they would want the characters to say or do. Interestingly, a user can only produce a certain number of characters.
Aside from this, another intriguing feature that lets Sora users mix several short clips to make a larger film is video stitching. To make the segments look coherent, the stitching tool automatically adds effects to the video, such transitions.
