Hoda Kotb is allegedly on the "list" of contenders to replace Kelly Clarkson, who is leaving her NBC daytime talk program.
On Thursday, a source told The Post that the 60-year-old journalist, who left the Today show in January, is firmly on the network's list of candidates to take over Kelly's talk show.
"There is a long list of names, and Hoda is on it," the confidant explained. "NBC never wanted Hoda to depart. The question is, does Hoda want to do it?
The insider also informed the magazine that NBC execs want to replace Kelly with someone who already has a following.
Hoda checks a number of boxes. "She's an Egyptian, older Kelly Clarkson," a source stated.
The insider revealed that Hoda already has deep ties to the network's leaders.
The announcement comes as allegations surfaced that Kelly is leaving her daytime program when her contract with NBC expires next year.
