The Prince of Wales attended the 2025 FA Cup Final against Crystal Palace and Manchester City at Wembley Stadium in London.
The future monarch became Patron of the Football Association (FA), the governing organization of soccer in England.
Crystal Palace upset Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday, winning for the first time as Eberechi Eze clinched a 1-0 triumph that added to Pep Guardiola's anguish.
According to AFP, Palace's stunning victory was no more than they deserved after being defeated by Manchester United in their previous FA Cup final outings in 1990 and 2016, as City disintegrated once again in a disastrous season that would be their first without major trophies since 2016-17.
Following the match, Prince William rushed to social media to congratulate Crystal Palace on their historic victory.
He wrote, "Congratulations to @CPFC on a fantastic FA Cup triumph! A historic victory and a performance to remember. The support was incredible; you've made your fans proud!"
Prince William and his eldest son, Prince George, are die-hard Aston Villa fans, who were eliminated by Palace in the semi-finals.
Prince George did not accompany William to the last match on Saturday.
As a patron of the Football Association, Prince William later gave the trophy to the victorious squad.
