Crystal Palace won the FA Cup for the first time in over a century, and Prince William, who saw the victory, has spoken out.
In a news conference, Olivier Glasner, the team's manager, shared what the royal prince said, saying, "You know he's an Aston Villa fan." He met him after his team's nail-biting win against Manchester City.
His words, followed by a smile, referenced Aston Villa's recent FA Cup semi-final loss to Crystal Palace.
The Austrian coach also said, "He congratulated all of us on our performances."
William is well-known for his enthusiasm for football. He has attended a number of high-profile matches, including several Aston Villa games.
The 42-year-old also recently accompanied his son, Prince George, to the Champions League Quarter Final Second Leg play on April 15 in Birmingham, England.
Previously, William explained his great bond with Aston. He told the BBC in 2015, "A long time ago, at school, I got really into football. I was searching for a team to follow, and all of my pals at school were either Manchester United or Chelsea supporters," but he stated he went with Aston.
