King Charles left Sandringham without his wife Queen Camilla following their estranged son Prince Harry's latest escapade, which insulted the royal family.
The king was spotted driving to St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham for a service on Sunday, smiling and waving to the spectators. However, the aspect appeared a little melancholy.
Royal watchers also noticed Camilla's absence, who is usually there with Charles on Sandringham trips.
The King's visit occurred just a day after a bombshell revelation surfaced that Prince Harry was prepared to shed his last name 'Mountbatten-Windsor' and adopt his mother's surname 'Spencer'.
According to DailyMail's Richard Eden, a friend of the Duke of Sussex stated that Harry discussed the notion with his uncle, Earl Charles Spencer, who cautioned him against it.
According to royal pundit Anne Diamond, Harry could not have given a more stinging insult to his cancer-stricken father.
Meanwhile, Richard Fitzwilliams stated that the action demonstrated the "toxicity" of the royal schism, particularly following Harry's dramatic BBC appearance.
"The difficulty with the Sussexes is that they appear to have been poorly planned. "They should have advisers," he complained.
The newest blow from Harry is especially heartbreaking for King Charles, who apparently still has a soft spot for his younger son since he, like his late father, Prince Philip, takes pride in his surname.
