Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are supporting a young trailblazer's drive to transform the health and technology sectors.
The Archewell Foundation has promised its support for Generation Patient, a youth-led health equality initiative created by 13-year-old Sneha Dave (now 26), after meeting her at the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund conference in Brooklyn in April.
After meeting Harry, Dave expressed increased worry about how Big Tech platforms promote pharmaceutical information.
"We don't know how the FDA works with these companies to try to flag to make sure there's not misinformation being spread by influencers advertising these prescription medications," according to TechCrunch.
Generation Patient focuses on the unregulated expansion of pharmaceutical marketing directed at teenagers on social media, an area where regulatory monitoring remains uncertain.
As Archewell said on its website, the organization's mission focuses on "increasing oversight on pharmaceutical ads on social media."
Dave is the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute's youngest main investigator, and he also serves on the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund's advisory board.
