After returning from his tour, King Charles invites a special guest on Windsor Day

 

After returning from Royal Week in Scotland, King Charles immediately went back to work.

On Friday, July 4, just a day after returning home, the queen welcomed a high-profile visitor to Windsor Castle: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman.

The two leaders, who have a friendly relationship, met inside the castle for tea and chats, the King's first formal engagement since his recent journey north with Queen Camilla.

The royal family's Instagram feed verified the visit by posting a photo of Charles and the Sultan together within Windsor's great hallways.

"The Sultan of Oman visited The King at Windsor Castle this afternoon and remained to tea," the image's caption stated.

The encounter, which was part of the Sultan's special tour to the UK, was not entirely social. According to an Omani news agency, the two royals spent time reflecting on their nations' rich historical links and discussing ways to improve future collaboration.

King Charles has visited Oman numerous times during the last two decades and will greet Sultan Haitham at his coronation in 2023. Friday's meeting emphasized not just their continuous diplomatic partnership, but also the personal friendship they've formed over the years.
