Meghan Markle's recent Instagram post has sparked a whirlwind of dispute among royal admirers, with many questioning the validity of a snapshot of the Duchess "picking" fresh fruit in her garden.
The photo, titled "Weekend plans: pick, snack, repeat" and accompanied by a peach emoji, appears to show Meghan reaching up to a tree full of fruits, holding a luscious apricot between her fingers.
However, astute admirers have noticed that the apricot in Meghan's hand is the only one that seems ripe, while the rest of the fruit on the tree stays green.
This difference has prompted some to assume that the shot was faked or edited.
One Reddit member jokingly replied, "I'd like to know, in what parallel universe does a single apricot ripen on a tree when the rest are still green?" Others have pointed out that the apricot looks to be detached from the tree, with Meghan holding it upside down.
Some fans have supported Meghan, claiming that the hue difference is due to lighting or manipulation in the photo. Others have noted that apricots are presently in season in Santa Barbara, where Meghan and Harry live.
However, the criticism surrounding the photo is not new; royal enthusiasts have previously analyzed Meghan's earlier posts.
Last month, the Duchess shared a photo of her family beagle, Mia, smelling a basket of fresh veggies, which some speculated were not homegrown owing to the absence of muck on them.
Earlier this year, Meghan's attempt to create the digits "2025" in cursive was questioned, with people remarking that she had obviously walked by another attempt to paint the identical numbers in the sand.
