The estrangement between Prince William and Prince Harry has prompted analysts to speculate that something'really awful' is going on.
Royal novelist Robert Jobson recently joined together with royal photographer Arthur Edwards to explore the possibility of something'really awful' happening between Prince Harry and Prince William.
They addressed this on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, and Mr Edwards was the first to share his opinions.
He says that "William and Harry were so close all their lives and did everything together. They went and accomplished everything together. "They were very close." So "something must have occurred so gravely that William can't bear him any more. And that's really sad."
"I do believe in the prodigal son," Mr Edwards said, "because you may say, 'I'm sorry, I repent, and I vow not to do it again. And I'm sure the King and William will say, "Okay, let's try it again." Further, "he's got to stop this talking about stitch ups and things like that."
Mr Jobson, on the other hand, merely spoke briefly to remind who should make the first move in this family feud, saying, "I really don't know how the King can make the first move unless he can trust his son."
Especially because "at the moment, we've not seen any evidence as to why he should," he said before signing off.
For anyone unfamiliar with the Duke of Sussex's latest backlash, he is being slammed with wave after wave, all as a result of his most recent BBC interview.
It aired after he lost his appeal for taxpayer-funded protection, and it covered everything from the lawsuit to his personal connections.
The aspect that left royal admirers reeling was when he declared, "I would love reconciliation with my family," but "there's no point in fighting any longer." Life is valuable. I'm not sure how much longer my father has. He won't speak to me because of this security issue. But it would be good to reconcile."
And, owing to the lack of security, he also stated at the time, "I can't envisage a scenario in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the United Kingdom at this moment. They're going to miss everything. I have always loved my nation, regardless of what some of its citizens have done."
