Tom Cruise has now revealed which of his iconic feats took place "decades" before the publication of Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.
On Monday, May 19, the 62-year-old Hollywood icon, who has pulled off spine-chilling feats throughout his career, came on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he discussed his years of commitment that drove him to undertake risky stunts.
For those unfamiliar, Cruise executed a stunt in the impending last film in the Mission Impossible franchise in which he hung onto the wing of a flying airliner traveling at over 150 mph.
During a talk, the Mission Impossible star stated that he spent a year and a half simply discussing the stunt, and that doing a stunt requires extensive prior work.
Cruise stated, "It took decades to figure it out, honestly."
He went on to say that this new stunt was inspired by "black-and-white footage from the very early days of wing walking," a high-risk hobby in which individuals walk on the wings of a flying plane.
The Top Gun star explained, "I just thought, 'Wow, I'd love to do that.'" "I was a little kid."

Cruise also stated that he and director Christopher McQuarrie intended to do something in the air in Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, and the pilot, who was proficient at flying anything from helicopters to aircraft, was eager to carry off the feat.
"We picked the airplane, and I know how to fly and navigate it. And we're just starting to see how I can attain zero-G between the wings and what we can accomplish," he said.
Before ending, it is important to note that Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning will be released in theaters on May 23, 2025.
