Prince Harry looks to be fighting his battles while his wife Meghan Markle delves headfirst into her business projects, as the pair appears to confirm their 'professional separation'.
Earlier this week, the Duke of Sussex paid a surprise visit to China to promote his environmentally friendly travel firm, Travelyst. The visit occurred at the same time when King Charles was on a royal tour of Canada with his wife, Queen Camilla.
The move aroused worries not just about Harry's relationship with the royals, but also about how his departure from a top royal post and subsequent separation was affecting him.
According to journalist Esther Krakue, his voyage to China is a strong indication that he has "nothing left". According to Bronte Coy, royal journalist for News.com.au, it was yet another "indication of the separation between the Sussexes and the royals".
"If you think about it critically, what else does he [Harry] have left?," Esther said. "I mean, he's resigned from Sentebale, while it's being investigated."
She remarked that because Harry is no longer a working royal, his "involvement is not as in-depth because it's every few years".
Esther stated that Travelyst is "all he has left". Furthermore, while Meghan continues to remake herself with her Netflix program, lifestyle company while Ever, and podcast, Harry is presented as a "shell of his former self" in her shadow.
"It kind of feels like [this] because there's nothing left," she told me. "He's just watching Meghan go from experiment to experiment, you know, taking his kids to school and dropping them off - but really, there isn't much there in terms of the man."
Meanwhile, Bronte agreed, stating that Harry has had a "erratic" year.
She said he appeared "lost" in court and did little of the charity work he was renowned for.
