Truecaller said on Wednesday that it had reached three million paid members worldwide. This rise can be ascribed to new features added to its paid consumer service that allow consumers to employ artificial intelligence (AI) for call screening and spam prevention. The Swedish caller identification software also saw a 16 percent increase in iOS subscriptions from March 31, when 0.86 million Apple devices were reported.
Increase in Paid Subscribers on Truecaller
Truecaller is one of the most popular caller identification and spam detection services in the world. The firm said that it has just reached two milestones. First, the number of paying members globally topped three million on May 17, up from 2.86 million on March 31.
Second, the caller ID app claimed an increase in iOS subscribers, from 0.86 million on March 31 to more over one million as of May 17. This corresponds to an increase of almost 16 percent throughout the time. Notably, Truecaller has 2.82 million customers in total, with 0.82 million on iOS as of December 31, the business reported.
"Our premium users now receive many valuable products such as our AI-Assistant, advanced spam blocking opportunities, and fraud insurance, to name a few," said Rishit Jhunjhunwala, CEO of Truecaller, in a statement.
According to the corporation, this rise is due to new features that were recently added to the platform. The most recent feature is Message IDs, which uses AI to help users sort out real communications in an inbox that is increasingly cluttered with spam texts. For years, the software has been designed with iPhone peripherals in mind. In January, it addressed the pain point of iOS customers by introducing API compatibility that allows for features like as real-time caller identification with Live Caller ID and automated filtering of spam phone calls.
It also introduced a Premium family plan, which allows for the enrollment of up to five persons in a single plan for a low monthly or yearly fee. This membership also includes fraud insurance for India.
