Buckingham Palace has issued an emotional update on King Charles and Queen Camilla's newest action following Princess Kate's unexpected choice.
On Wednesday, the King and Queen choked back tears as they unveiled a surprise new memorial to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The royal family posted an update on its official Instagram account when the King and Queen went out in Edinburgh to unveil the stone, which is a basic black slate in the floor of St Giles' Cathedral.
The ER cypher and the Scottish Crown are carved on the stone. It also includes the dates when the late monarch's corpse was laid to rest in the cathedral following her death at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on September 8, 2022.
The Palace posted an emotional statement with Queen Elizabeth's famous images, writing: "Today, the King and Queen unveiled a Memorial Stone dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth II at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh." Her late Majesty's strong attachment for Scotland and its people was widely known, particularly her fondness for the Scottish Highlands."
