WhatsApp Business users will soon be able to enjoy two new capabilities, Meta revealed on Tuesday. During its global Conversations conference in Miami, the firm introduced new business features. The first function is geared toward larger enterprises, which will soon be able to accept and make audio calls to consumers. The second feature is an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot called Business AI, which can automatically share product recommendations with clients to drive sales. Notably, both features will be released in the next weeks.
WhatsApp Business is getting two new features
In a blog post, the social media company stated that it plans to simplify how companies establish and manage marketing campaigns across all Meta platforms, including WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. Businesses may get this information using Ads Manager.
WhatsApp Business is consolidating its platform by removing several experiences for businesses of all sizes. All setup and procedures will now be consolidated into a single, centralized area inside Ads Manager. According to the firm, following onboarding, businesses may submit their subscriber list and either pick marketing messages manually as an additional placement, or utilize Advantage+, and Meta's AI models would automatically optimise budgets for them to achieve maximum performance.
Regarding the two new capabilities, WhatsApp Business users will soon be able to use a new chatbot called Business AI. It can make tailored product suggestions to clients in an attempt to increase sales. Additionally, it can follow up with clients, answer their queries, and deliver updates via WhatsApp conversation. This functionality will first be made available to a limited number of Mexican firms.
Previously, only smaller businesses could accept phone calls from clients using WhatsApp's Business interface. The feature is now being expanded to include larger enterprises. They can either get a call from consumers who indicate that they want to talk with someone live or call a client directly once they have indicated that they want to speak with a representative.
WhatsApp Business will soon offer voice messaging and video calls for specified use cases (for example, video calls will be accessible during telehealth consultations). Meta stated that the increase of voice assistance will ultimately pave the way for AI-powered voice support. However, the business did not specify a timetable for the functionality.
